New Shelves Distribution and The Cadence Group have been providing publishers and small presses with highly successful sales and marketing campaigns since 2006. We help our clients realize their full potential in the retail and wholesale marketplace.

We are experienced publishing professionals with a unique background in sales, traditional and on-line marketing, acquisitions, editing, agent and contract negotiation, book packaging, book buying, merchandising, series and imprint management, sales training, design, and new business development.

Bethany Brown started her publishing career at Adams Media as an editorial assistant working on career books. Four years later, she was the Senior Editor in charge of acquiring for, and developing, The EVERYTHING® series and brand extensions. She was also responsible for new series development in partnership with parent company F&W.

Looking to help a smaller press grow, Bethany moved to Chicago in 2004 and served as the Senior Editor and Editorial Manager at Sourcebooks, Inc. in charge of Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, the Sourcebooks’ bestselling parenting book program and several other branding and publishing initiatives.  Bethany joined The Cadence Group in November 2008.

Amy Collins MacGregor started her career in the book industry as the book buyer for Village Green Books in upstate, New York.  Recruited by Prima Publishing, she “hopped the desk” and thoroughly enjoyed 5 years as a National Account Rep.  She sold Barnes and Noble and all the major East Coast chains as well as launched a major private label publishing program for chains such as PetSmart and CVS.

In 2001, Amy was named Director of Sales at Adams Media in Boston and quickly rose to the Special Sales Director for parent company, F+W Media.  In February 2006, Amy started The Cadence Group.

Tom Galvin, our National Sales Manager, has over 20 years of experience selling to the national and specialty chains in North America.  He draws from years of experience with Prima, HCI, DK and Sourcebooks to supply each title with a focused sales pitch and to provide individual feedback when appropriate.
